Counselling for ages 14–25.

Support centred on the young person, informed by the context around them.

At The Interval, one-to-one counselling sits at the centre of our work. Where helpful, we also work alongside parents and schools, recognising that the context around a young person can play an important part in how they are understood and supported. Our services include individual counselling, parent consultation and psychoeducation, and collaboration with schools.

WHAT TO EXPECT

01. Choose a practitioner

Explore our practitioner profiles to find someone who feels like the right fit. If you're unsure who may be most appropriate, you can make an enquiry through our contact page, and we'll help you consider the options.

02. Book a session — or make an enquiry

If you're ready to begin, you can book an initial session directly. If you have questions about finding the right practitioner, the counselling process or what to expect, you can reach us through our enquiry form.

03. Begin with an initial session

The first 60-minute session creates space to understand what has brought the young person to counselling, what feels important now and what they hope might change. For clients under 18, we strongly recommend a separate parent consultation session early in the process. Adolescence unfolds within relationships, and parents remain an important part of the environment around a young person. This session provides space to understand the wider context, establish clear boundaries around confidentiality, and offer psychoeducation that can help parents support the work taking place in counselling.

Important: The Interval is not an emergency or crisis response service. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, call 995 for an emergency ambulance or 999 for Police assistance. For 24-hour mental health support, contact Samaritans of Singapore (SOS) at 1767 or the national mindline at 1771.
